Entries are automatically tracked by date, and reviewing past entries is as simple as a click of the mouse. - The Journal allows you to create multiple entry categories such as "Daily Journal", "Poems", "Project Notes", and more--completely user defineable! - The Journal is very flexible, allowing many options in creating the perfect Personal Journal for you, while maintaining an unrivaled ease-of-use! - The Journal has powerful word processing capabilities (paragraph formatting, font selection, printing--even a spellchecker and a thesaurus) and full OLE container support. - The Journal is secure. Not only can you use a password, all entries are encrypted before being saved. INSTALLING THE JOURNAL: Decompress (all of) the archive(s) into a temp directory and execute Setup from Windows 95 Explorer. INSTALLING OVER VERSIONS v1.39 and later: NOTE: Do NOT uninstall the previous version!!! You may want to backup your The Journal\Data folder before installing The Journal 2.0. Simply decompress the archive into a temp directory and execute Setup from Windows 95 Explorer. The setup program will correctly place the upgraded components. INSTALLING OVER VERSIONS v1.38 and earlier: NOTE: Do NOT uninstall the previous version!!! The automatic entry database upgrade process included with The Journal 2.0 is only certified to work with The Journal 1.39 or later. If you are using a release of The Journal prior to 1.39, I recommend that you download and install The Journal 1.51 before installing The Journal 2.0. This will ensure the correct conversion of your entry database. Email DavidRM Software at davidrm@busprod.com and for the location where you can download The Journal 1.51 Full Package. SETTING UP THE SPELL CHECKER AND THESAURUS The Spell Checker and Thesaurus dictionaries are located in the Data folder. Assuming the default installation path, this would be: C:\Program Files\DavidRM Software\The Journal\Data REGISTERING THE JOURNAL: The Journal is Shareware. The Journal may be evaluated for a period of 30 (thirty) days. During this time, all features of The Journal are fully accessible. To continue to use The Journal after the evaluation period, you must pay the registration fee to DavidRM Software. Or choose "Register The Journal" from the Help menu. Either will bring up the registration form. If you email your payment information (credit card payments only) to sales@kagi.com, your order will generally be processed and your Registration Keys emailed back to you within 24 hours.
